Pensoft going to the German Ecological Society’s 53rd annual conference
Pensoft will attend the German Ecological Society’s 53rd annual conference, which will be held from September 9 to 13, 2024, in Freising, Germany. The event, titled "The future of sustainable land use across ecosystems, landscapes, and biomes," will discuss sustainable land use in agriculture, forestry, and urban settings, presenting the latest advancements in ecological science and application.
At the conference, Pensoft will have an exhibition stand, where participants can explore the publ’sher's open-access ecological journals. The company will also present the capabilities of the ARPHA Platform, an all-in-one solution for journal management and publishing.
As part of the conference program, Iva Boyadzhieva, Pensoft’s head of journal development, PR, and marketing, will lead an interactive lunch session on Wednesday, September 11, from 12:45 to 13:45. Titled "Open data publishing in biodiversity science and ecology," the session will explore the challenges and solutions related to data publishing faced by researchers in ecology and biodiversity.
Pensoft will also highlight its role in several ecological projects. The company manages project coordination, communication, and outreach for SELINA, a project aimed at promoting the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of natural resources.
Within the REST-COAST project, which focuses on coastal ecosystem restoration, Pensoft is in charge of dissemination, exploitation, social transformation tools, helping the public grasp the challenges posed by climate change and human activities on coastal ecosystems.
Additionally, Pensoft is involved in the SpongeBoost project, which seeks to restore landscapes' natural water retention abilities. The company's contributions include communication, dissemination, and sharing best practices related to soil, water, and groundwater connectivity, with a view to enabling replication of successful approaches across Europe.
